South Texas Pool Builder

EXCAVATION
Once a design and position of pool layout is approved by you, the homeowner, the excavation will begin. All that is required is to meet minimum backsets and to make sure there are no underground utilities in the area of the excavation. A ten foot (10') entrance area is required for machinery and the excavation can begin.

STEEL
One-half inch rebar is installed on 10" centers, tied and bonded to build a cage for the structure of your pool.

GUNITE
Once the position of the returns, skimmers, lights and main drains are determined, a mixture of portland and gunite sand is blown in at a high pressure surrounding the steel and creating the shell in the pool design.

PLUMBING
Each pool requires its own individual design of plumbing depending on the shape and depth of the pool. Special options, such as cleaners and water features, can also dictate the design of the plumbing specifications.

COPING
Coping of your choice is adhered to the beam with thinset, portland, masonary and sand

TILE
Tile is placed around the perimeter of the pool with thinset and wet wall tile grout. Mosaics are available.

ELECTRICAL
A certified licensed electrician will hook up all electrical services to your pool.

GRADING
The area of deck you have chosen must be graded so that elevations to the house and the pool are correct. This is done in preparation for forming of the deck.

FORMING THE DECK
The predetermined amount of deck that you contract for will be formed. A 2" base of sand must then be applied; 3/8" rebar will then be installed, along with any necessary drains, and the deck will be electrically bonded. Following this, a bonding inspection is required.

POURING THE DECK
A 4-1/2" thick, 3500 psi cement deck will be poured.

FILTER INSTALLATION
The equipment recommended to properly filter and purify your pool will now be installed.

MORE ELECTRICAL
Lights and equipment will now be wired.

DECK SURFACING
The deck surface previously selected by you will now be applied.

PLASTER
The preselected interior surfacing of your pool will now be applied.

WATER
Your pool is now ready to be filled with water.

START UP
After filling the pool, directional flows for each return and skimmer baskets must be installed. Pumps will be primed, water chemistry will be balanced and the pool will begin filtering. Within 24 hours, you can SWIM!!
